Units from Beltsville were dispatched to R.I. Ave and Howard Ave for a reported 9I. Units arrived to find a 2 car accident. A request was made for a medic unit and Trooper to transport a trauma patient. One patient was transported by Trooper 8 to a local trauma center the other patient transported by 117. Both patients were from the car. The occupant of the pick up had left the scene before units arrived.
This accident was due to a car jacking (Pick Up) of several vehicle in the pits in Laurel. There was another accident in Adelphi involving another car jacked vehicle about the same time.
