The Beltsville Volunteer Fire Department is sad to announce the passing of Life Member Harry Stephen “Hump” Flora.

Steve joined the department in 1966 and was a dedicated member for over 50 years. Steve was one of the top emergency responders year after year. For the last 10 years Steve was frequently seen staffing the ambulance, serving the citizens of Beltsville.

The viewing and service will take place Wednesday, June 3 and the Borwardt Funeral home in Beltsville. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions the family is requesting visitation, service and interment be by invitation only.

The funeral procession is expected to depart the funeral home at approximately 1:30pm and will proceed down Powder Mill Road to Prince George's Avenue and will pass the fire station on the way to Fort Lincoln Cemetery.

We ask anyone who wishes to pay their respect to Steve for his 54 years of service and dedication to the residents of the Beltsville community, please be along the route from Borgwardts to the fire station.
