On Friday, Engine 31 and Brush 31 responded to reports of an outside fire in the area of Powder Mill Road and Springfield Road. The fire was actually discovered off of Springfield Road and several hundred yards off of the roadway. Units arrived on scene to find a harvested corn field on fire that was approximately 1 acre in size. The fire was quickly brought under control and was completely extinguished in a little over an hour.
