Have you ever considered being a volunteer firefighter/EMT? Are you a volunteer with another jurisdiction looking for a change of pace and the opportunity to gain more experience? We are always recruiting new members at the Beltsville Volunteer Fire Department and we rely on our volunteers to keep our station staffed. We have four career personnel on duty around the clock, 24/7 from the Prince Georges County Fire Department, but often it is the volunteers that make up the majority of our staffing.

We have a live in program with bunk space available and all training is provided free of charge through the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute. Some training courses also count as ACE college credits towards a fire science or public safety degree. We also have a Junior Firefighter program for those between 16 and 18 years of age.

No prior experience is required. Check out our recruitment page for more info on membership and benefits.

Email us at membership@beltsvillevfd.com and checkout our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/bvfd31

The alarms are always sounding and the rigs are ready, will you help us answer the call?
