Many years ago, back in the early 1980's I had the privilege of joining Beltsville Volunteer Fire Dept. It was a great place to come and spend the weekend and run calls when I could.

These guys are great.They've always been there when needed and are caring professionals.
Many of them are volunteers,and as a long time resident of the area,they are greatly appreciated.
Girl Scout Troop 6379 would like to say THANK YOU to Beltsville Fire Station and especially Patrick, Sean, and the other firefighter (I did not catch his name). The girls thoroughly enjoyed the tour, especially seeing the ladder truck in action. Patrick, we sincerely appreciate you taking the time to teach the girls about fire safety and showing them the ins and outs of the fire station.

I love the trip down memory lane, except for the tanker I either operated or at least rode on most of the equipment.

I marched the Drum Corp for 4 years in the mid seventys including the bicentenial parades. Ran calls as a volenteer from 79-81. Richard Jones and Big Bobby Evans signed my application. Cope, DeHaven, Hefrans, Chilcoate, Lien, Birdsongs, Allens, Torre, and Palmer were all running calls then. Lt Gore was still incharge during the day and shiftmen like Belieu, Sarni, Keister, and others kept us in line. Good Times and Good memories.
4,000 calls a year?? That's almost 10x the amount of calls we run a year! Keep up the great work guys!

Thanks for majorette pictures, I have none of myself and loved seeing the ones on the site. Seeing my brothers Bob and John as young men was very special too.
The auxilliary helped us say goodbye to our Mother, Hilda Mahoney in May 2011 and it was wonderful to be back at the Fire Hall. I'll be at the memorial event in September.

I miss Beltsville. Lived just on the road behind the FD Miss the sirens, knew there was danger somewhere but they were on their way to help. Mom and dad played bingo there and the Wrights next door Oh the good ole days. So long gone but fine memories

I am very sad to her the news about John John. He was the type of person that once you met him you would never forget him. I remember the days when we all were alot younger and John was one of the smaller guys but he had the biggest car, that big black Charger. I guess you could say the same for his big heart.
Rest in peace John, you wil NEVER be forgotten.
