Danny DeHaven, disappeared from the Costco in Beltsville, MD on January 2 at approx. 11am. Danny has dementia and cannot communicate well. Please use this site to share information and any sightings. Danny was wearing this outfit when he disappeared. He is 65 years old, 5' 9" and has pepper hair and blue eyes. Please help us find Danny.

January 4th 2018 update

To those in the Beltsville, Md and surrounding areas- If you can find the time, we are asking anyone with an outdoor video system at their home to review the past 48 hours for anyone that fits his description. He is very familiar with the Beltsville, Greenbelt, College Park, Berwyn Heights, Laurel, and Burtonsville areas. It is possible that he may have walked away from Route 1 to more residential routes. Thank you again for your efforts.

January 5th 2018 update

For those who are near the Beltsville area, we are continuing the search again tomorrow, Jan 6. If anyone is available and would like to join the search, please meet at the Beltsville Branch Library at 11AM.
If you are not local and would still like to help by conducting your own search efforts in your area, we have uploaded the flyer to this page so that it's available for you all to print out. Please be sure to contact Michell Min at 443 878 9488 for instructions.

Thank you for your overwhelming support and prayers. We are so grateful to have such an amazing community surrounding us during this time.

Parking- field across from the fire house. January 6th, at 11 am to continue our search. We will provide detailed instructions, distribute flyers, and assign searches.

If you plan to help, please be prepared for the elements by wearing multiple layers, water proof shoes appropriate for walking in lightly wooded areas, and replacement layers in-case any articles of clothing become wet.

Update January 6, 2018 1650hrs

We are so grateful for the overwhelming support we received today to help bring our father, Danny home. We appreciate every single one of you who has participated in this search effort either by showing up in person or sharing our story and spreading the word. We can't do this without the help of this amazing community.

The search will continue tomorrow, Sunday Jan 7, 2018 at the same time and the same place. We will convene in the morning at 11am at the Beltsville Fire Department located on 4911 Prince George's Ave (Fire House #31) Beltsville, MD 20705 where we will assign more search areas and provide more instruction.

Again, if you plan to help, please be prepared for the elements by wearing multiple layers, shoes appropriate for walking in lightly wooded areas, and replacement layers in-case any articles of clothing become wet.

If you are able to join us tomorrow later than 11, there will be someone at the Fire Department throughout the day. Please drop by when you can.

We are so thankful for everyone's time and effort that they have put in to help us find Danny DeHaven. We hope to see you all again tomorrow.

PGPD updated

IMPORTANT UPDATE on search for Mr. DeHaven: he MAY have been picked up while walking on Rte 1 on Tues (Jan 2) by a driver who dropped him off in the 800 blk of Annapolis Rd in Gambrills. Pls be on the lookout in that area.

January 9, 2018 final update

We regret to inform you of the following update in the case of a critical missing resident.

January 9, 2018: Mr. Daniel DeHaven was found deceased earlier this evening in Anne Arundel County. A citizen out for a walk located Mr. DeHaven in a wooded area off Dorsey Road near the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. Prince George’s County Police detectives also responded to the scene. Along with many assets of the Prince Georges' County Police Department and our partner agencies, we know so many of our residents worked tirelessly to find Mr. DeHaven in the last week. We sincerely thank you. We thank our media partners for continuously sharing aspects of the search with the community. The Prince George's County Police Department extends our condolences to Mr. DeHaven's family and friends.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department has asked us to shared the following:

"There are no suspicious factors in the death and the Anne Arundel County Police Department will follow up with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine cause and manner of death. There is no further information. If there are any updates, they will be posted in the daily brief."
