Beltsville Volunteers Canvas Neighborhoods to Bring Smoke Detector Awareness to the Community.

Earlier this morning volunteers from Station 31 canvassed some neighborhoods in the Beltsville area to educate the community on the importance of having working smoke detectors in their homes. Members inspected installed smoke detectors in homes to ensure the batteries were working, tested the smoke detectors, and even installed some new detectors for families that did not have any in their home.
If you would like to have the department come to your house to check your existing smoke detectors or install a new one, please call the Beltsville Station at 301-937-3160 or the Calverton Station at 301-937-2596 and ask to speak to an officer.
